GB 20 inch LOW PRO 3/8P x .050 gauge MILLING BAR # SNHL20-50WR
Hi friends of OBM, here is an amazing product I have been meaning to list.
SNHL25-50WR is a bar that fits all medium mount STIHL bars and with an adaptor it can fit all the medium to large Husqvarna saws as well. Depending on the length of the Low Pro bar (20 to 42 inch), they are best suited for saws in the 55 cc and bigger range. This 25 inch bar would be suited for 55 cc and up .
These "thin kerf technology" bars are incredible, as the kerf (width of cut) is only around 5.5mm effectively turning your chainsaw into a bandsaw!. Making this the "go to" bar for those of you wanting to cut slabs, especially true when you are equipped with saws up to the size of the 044, 046, 362, 440, 460, 462, 500i, 660, 661 etc. or HUSKY 266, 288, 365, 372, 390, 394, 395, 562, 576, 592 for that matter.
The thing to consider too is that you do not waste wood, especially if you consider comparing milling with the std .404 milling chain to this thin kerf set up, when for every four cuts with the .404, you have wasted (to sawdust) a 25mm board... there in lies the value too.
Less width of cut equals less fuel; less power required to drive the chain and less time spent cutting too.
This 20 inch GB Thin Kerf Milling Bar is matched with 72 Drive Links (DL of 3/8P chain if using a 7T rim. Please note you will need a special 3/8 Pico rim sprocket too, as even though the pitch is the same as the standard 3/8 chain, the 3/8P has smaller drive links thus the rim sprockets are of a different design. We can help you with the supply of those too, which are the GB Brand.
If you need a bar adapter to run these bars on your Husqvarna saw, you will have to search for a GBSP9-12 adapter on our site.
The thin kerf not only allows you to cut wood as if you have a laser sabre (like Star Wars stuff) but also it's safer too, as the kickback risk is greatly reduced.
Of course all chainsaws are hell dangerous, so do not get complacent just because there is less kickback.
I have chains for these as well in the Rapid Micro Pro (Semi Chisel) style.
OBM recommends using the 2N1 Filing Guide for the smaller 3/8 Pico Chains as it really does make the sharpening of the Pico chain easier, for sure! At the end of the day though, it's your call.
