STIHL 18 inch x .063" DUROMATIC (Hard Nose) Medium Mount Bar # 3003 000 9217

Here we have by popular demand the STIHL DUROMATIC Hard Nose Chainsaw Bar in 18 inch x .063. in the medium mount configuration which fits the medium range of saws from the 024, 038, 044, 066, 660, 661 styles plus many more (see below for the full list).
The other thing  is you can run three pitches of chain with this bar, like .325 - 74DL, 3/8 - 66DL or .404 which is 60DL, How cool is that!, like one bar does all types of chain pitch. that is pretty awesome if you ask me!
These bars are fantastic as they are just so durable, simple in that they have no moving parts (nothing to break) and on top pf that they are super strong and long lasting too.
My old mate and mentor George "Nuggett" Giblett (farmer, WWII soldier, bushman etc) put me onto using Hard Nosed Bars decades ago now and he was dead right, they are fantastic!
Some people carry on about friction in the tip and loss of power though that but its so not true, You have to understand that Stellite is added to the bar tip and that stuff is so damn hard, if you have normal oil flow the chain will just wizz around there with  no friction at all!, think ice skaters on an ice rink spinning about, no friction to talk about there right!
 The one thing is though is that you need to be a little bit more switched on with the chain tension as it needs to be just right so that when the chain gets to operating temperature (warm) that its not loose and hanging, so to acheive that it takes a bit of experience to know what is just right when the chain is cold, without going on too much you need to run your chain a tad looser cold than on sprocket tipped bars.
Anyways that is how i see these bars... Extremely Durable and top value for sure!
