STIHL 25 inch x .063" DUROMATIC (Hard Nose) Medium Mount (MM) Bar #3003 001 5631

Genuine STIHL 25 inch x .063 gauge Duromatic bar for the medium bar mount size for your STIHL saw.
The beauty of these bars is that you can run .325, 3/8 or .375, and .404 too, as long as they are .63 or 1.6mm bar goove you are good to go with these.
Sure they are  old school and very durable, but think about it... no moving parts as in sprocket tips to go wrong on you so if you into low maintenance and excellent service life then this will be for you. This bar is made of tempered steel with heat treated rail which are as hard as the hobs of hell.
This Duromatic Style of Bar is one of my all time favourites, used correctly and with the right chain tension (10% less than sprocket tipped bars) they are the best!
These bars are fantastic as they are just so durable, simple in that they have no moving parts) and on top pf that they are super strong and long lasting too.
My old mate and mentor George "Nuggett" Giblett (farmer, WWII Soldier, bushman, etc) put me onto using Hard Nosed Bars years ago now and he was dead right, they are fantastic.
Some people carry on about friction in the tip and loss of power though that but its so not true, You have to understand that Stellite is added to the bar tip and that stuff is so damn hard, if you have normal oil flow the chain will just wizz around there with  no friction at all!, think ice skaters on an ice rink spinning about, no friction to talk about there right!
 The one thing is though is that you need to be a little bit more switched on with the chain tension as it needs to be just right so that when the chain gets to operating temperature (warm) that its not loose and hanging, so to acheive that it takes a bit of experience to know what is just right when the chain is cold, without going on too much you need to run your chain a tad looser cold than on sprocket tipped bars.
Anyways that is how i see these bars... Extremely Durable and top value for sure!
